TUC On-line
Sportsgate welcomed the joint venture relationship it had with the Trades Union Congress for 4 years after the first 50% acquisition in 2001 in the ownership and operation of Learn0nLine working from the TUC's National Education HQ in North London, now closed down - see the Learn0nLine section. When the TUC sadly retracted its education side in returning to core services to Unions, Sportsgate acquired the whole ownership of Learn0nLine.
In this relationship, Sportsgate benefited from working with the TUC's provision of electronic learning resources through Learn Direct, and the national and overseas projects that the TUC entered into with Learn0nLine in Cyprus, Hungary and other of the many Commonwealth countries where the TUC has offices. It was useful to work in the DTI funded projects and Leonardo projects. In addition, the TUC studies in 45 Further Education Colleges where it uses Learn0nLine.
In the formal handover in March 2006, the TUC Director General complimented Sportsgate with a released statement that encouraged Sportsgate to continue its e-learning work, citing the TUC as a potential future client.
